As an Admin, I'd like the ability to set up amateur brackets without smash.gg employee intervention.

Right now this functionality is entirely dependent on having smash.gg staff online and present. Even when set up in advance, last minute adjustments are often necessary and impossible.

Additionally, record based in addition to placement based amateur brackets would be really nice.

Absolutely voting for this option. Should be too difficult to implement and would make planning so much easier as well.

We do AM brackets manually. We just create the event and drop players names in after they go 0-2 etc. then we close registration for it so people can’t add themselves before hand. But it would be easier if the auto filled.

Erik Jacome: over a year? ... This kind of things should be easy enough to add.

This.
But seriously so many events are weekly where its easier to manually add the player than contacting support to set up an amateur bracket.

Allow Separation of Pool Progression (Great for Redemption Brackets)

If in a phase of bracket, if you can automatically send players who were at a certain place to a different phase from others who make it "out of pools". This is good for redemption brackets. Say for example a DE Pool of 12 people with Top 4 out, if the remaining 8 could go to a different phase altogether. Having this (optionally) fall in line with overall placings of the tournament could also be very interesting for tournaments.

This is not on the immediate roadmap, but it is something we want to support in the future!

I'd consider this a high priority for smash.gg, and applies to other types of advanced phase progression. Even small locals can get screwed up because of last minute registrations/DQs and adjustments are needed, but no way to do them without waiting for smash.gg, even worse when they are ocurring when no staff is online.

Hey, Vanilla!
At the moment this is something we can set up for you. Just reach out to us via your support channel requesting custom progressions and we can set that up for you. This help center article has an example of what it would look like (https://help.smash.gg/brackets/running-an-amateur-bracket).

Kelly Goodchild: Thanks! While this is very useful, it's my understanding that this isn't something that couldn't be implemented regularly because it's a custom thing. I run a weekly with a redemption bracket every time and this would be extremely helpful to be able to change/edit/create on a whim.
Is this something that I could reach out weekly for?
gg | kupo!
Vanilla: yes definitely! The quickest way to get it set up is to reach out to your support chat (the blue chat bubble in the bottom right). Our support hours are 6 AM PT - 11:59 PM PT. If your tournament happens during our offline hours just reach out to us ahead of time and we can still get that set up for you! (:

gg | kupo!: Thanks for the reply! I had emailed the support email as well and they mentioned that due to how it has to be created on the back end, if I had to make any changes such as the number of players which make it/don't make it out of pools, the number of pools, or really any edits with progression whatsoever, that this could not be edited on my end "on the fly".
Seeing as how my intended purpose for this would be for weekly events that we don't have any way of knowing the number of entrants of sometimes up until 15 minutes before the event starts, it would be great to have more control over this functionality from our end of things. If that's possible, then that would be amazing!
